The river Dean is a small meandering river through the fields behind Lowerhouse Pool. The river has Brown Trout to around 2lb, and the odd course fish.

Fishing starts from the weir at Lowerhouse Pool, and access is for a further 2 fields downstream from the recycling centre.

The river Dean open season is as follows:

Fishing for trout from 15th March - 30th September

Course fishing from 15th June - 30th September
